My name is Ward.
I am a 26 year old grad student who will be receiving his M.A. in History this coming May. Several months ago, in this midst of my studies, I began scouring the internet for a quick diversion and stumbled upon the wonderful stories we call “creepypastas.” They quickly became my newest guilty pleasure. Although most of my time until this past week has revolved around writing my thesis (all 120 pages of it), I absolutely love writing fiction and pastas seem like a perfect outlet. So within this blog you will find a collection of pastas written by me, as well as (hopefully) submissions from others or even yourself!
In addition to pastas, I will also be posting writing tutorials to help others improve their “cooking” skills. As I have perused the vast collections of pastas across the internet, I’ve noticed several common mistakes new chefs make as well as common factors among the most successful pastas. I have helped undergraduates at my university with their writing skills for a few years now and I would like to share what little I do know with the rest of the world. Stay tuned.
Now I should warn you. My area of specialty is apocalypticism (I study various traditions and views on how the world will end). My thesis examines how the advent of nuclear technology in 1945 affected apocalyptic beliefs. In addition to this, out of curiosity I have used my access to archives and scholarly journals to study everything from UFOs to folklore and myths to the paranormal. I have found some fascinatingly disturbing things during my studies. Therefore, along with works of fiction, I will also include genuine accounts. I will give documentation where possible, but I do realize that even my legitimate accounts will be met with skepticism. Still, you have been warned.
